Naked - Mike Leigh

Johnny flees Manchester for London, to avoid a beating from the family of a girl he has raped. There he finds an old girlfriend, and spends some time homeless, spending much of his time ranting at strangers, and meeting characters in plights very much like his own.

“Naked” is maybe the Britain most under-rated movie.

At first look, the film is quite strange because it seems to be just a long monologue starring Johnny, the main character.

Despite this strong and intrusive presence, Johnny is a fatalist, a nihilist and a bully at same time, he’s also a disarming predator and a violent victim, he’s definitely an anti heroe. He's simply awful, provoking and much more.

“Naked” is the most adequate title to describe this film and his eclectic main character Johnny.
