“Last Year at Marienbad” is a very difficult film to approach since the first shots.
In a hypnotic way, viewer is leaded through a path of memories and flashbacks, alternating truth and imagination in an architecture of ambiguity and uncertainty.
The recurring element is the park theme that captures the spectator’s eye dragging it into a mental maze without an exit.
This experiment seems to reproduce the process of a thought or a dream or both, people move on through corridors like ghosts without willingness making the directing style very affascinating and surreal.
